Celebrate Father's Day with these gifts and activities in Springfield

Father's Day is Sunday. If you're in need of a last-minute gift for the weekend, there are plenty of local businesses that have you covered, offering products like handmade leather wallets and popcorn-scented mustache wax.

If your old man prefers getting out and about on the big day, there are also several ways to celebrate, including free admission to the Dickerson Park Zoo and specially-crafted dinners at Finley Farms.

The News-Leader compiled a list of nine Springfield-based businesses offering the perfect gifts for our favorite dads.

Manly Cans is a family-owned business offering gifts geared for men, including gift baskets fit inside reusable canisters, like ammo cans and tin buckets. Gift basket options range from Burger's Smokehouse beef sticks and beer nuts to corkscrews and beard oil. Baskets range from $26 to $130.

Manly Cans may be purchased online at manlycans.com/ with local delivery or in-person at Little Bluebird Vintage Boutique in Ozark and Stone Mill Marketplace in Bolivar. Pre-orders can also be placed at Pits N Grills in Springfield.

If your dad is a fan of grazing, Lavish Grazing is offering a special Father's Day charcuterie board full of vegetables, fruits, cheeses and spreads all fit inside the letters to spell "DAD." Orders for the $45 charcuterie board can be placed online at lavishgrazingsgf.com/fathers-day-orders/dad-letters. If you're looking for something smaller, Lavish Grazing also offers mini boxes for $9.

Established in 2019, Lavish Grazing is owned and operated by the Hinkles family in Springfield.

Is your dad's wallet looking a bit rough? Anvil Customs located on Park Central Square has high-quality bifold, exotic leather, hand-stained and trifold wallets in a variety of different design. Anvil Customs products do range on the pricier side, with smaller wallets listed on the website starting around $150. Custom products can also be purchased at the storefront downtown.

Did you know Brown Derby offers handcrafted gift baskets for special occasions? Gift baskets can be picked up from a Brown Derby location after 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday but do require a 48-hour notice. Order forms can be completed to the Brown Derby website at brownderby.com/pages/gift-baskets.

Apple Tobacco, Coffee Shop, Leather, and Grandpa's Pipe are some of Reborn Co.'s candle scents, perfect for Father's Day. The business was founded in 2016 after Charlton Johnson retired from the Army after serving for 34 years. Charlton and his wife Patricia started Reborn Co. to meet new people and travel, rather than retire, according to the Reborn Co. website. All Reborn Co. candles are made of 100% soy wax.

Reborn Co. candles are available at 5 Pound Apparel, Battlefield Pharmacy, Blu Skies Salon, The Dress Bridal Boutique, Grass Roots Garden Center in Marshfield, Grove Spa, Hard Hat Gear, A Hip Joint, Just For Him, Lazy Lee's Resort in Branson, A Little Vintage Charm, Meadow Campground in New London and Sumits Hot Yoga, according to the Reborn Co. website. Customers may enjoy 15% off all online orders through Sunday, June 18 when using the code FATHER23.

For the dads who spend summers by the grill, Yo Seasonings based in Springfield has many different seasonings and rubs to choose from. Fan favorites include All Purpose Seasoning, Pineapple Rub, Cilantro Lime Seasoning and Mango Jerk Rub. Yo Seasonings is also offering $50 Father's Day gift baskets, available for pickup through Sunday at midnight. To inquire about basket options, text or call 417-763-8271 or email [email protected].

If beard and mustache care is a priority to your dad, Bret Chrismer's Mustache Wax provides a high-quality product with some fun. Chrismer is known for releasing unique scents like Movie Theater Popcorn, Cotton Candy, Apple Pie Moonshine and Old Hickory Smoke. Over the years, he's created close to 70 different scents like these. Bret Chrismer's Mustache Wax products are available for purchase online at bscenterprises.com/product-category/mustache_wax/.

Chrismer founded his mustache wax business in 2019 after almost 20 years of struggling to find a wax product in stores that looked, felt and smelled the way he wanted. All of Chrismer's products are made with beeswax, lanolin, coconut oil and fragrance oils.
