The Kentucky sports betting catalogue has been fully approved leading up to the state’s retail sports betting launch on Thursday, Sept. 7, giving interested customers the chance to start planning out their wagers.
Kentucky Horse Racing Commission Executive Director Jamie Eads approved the full sports betting catalogue after the document receiving initial approval from the Kentucky Sports Wagering Advisory Council this morning. The catalogue is subject to ratification by the full KHRC commission at their next meeting.
“With the sports wagering catalog, bettors can start planning their bets,” said Public Protection Cabinet Secretary and Sports Wagering Advisory Council member Ray Perry in a press release. “I want to again thank the team at the KHRC and the Sports Wagering Advisory Council for their dedication to wagering integrity and protecting bettors in the state of Kentucky.”
The full Kentucky sports betting catalogue includes markets such as the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, WNBA, and NCAA baseball, softball, basketball, football and hockey. The only mixed martial art events allowed in the catalogue will be UFC sanctioned fights.
It allows single game bets, teaser bets, parlays, over-under bets, moneyline bets, pools, in-game wagering, in-play bets, prop bets, and straight bets.
Betting on awards shows and unsanctioned events will not be permitted.
As discussed today at the Kentucky Sports Wagering Advisory Council meeting, KHRC Sports Betting Director Hans Stokke said service providers can submit potential new markets and events to the commission to be added to the sports betting catalogue. He also noted that the catalogue may even be expanded before the state’s online sports betting launch on Thursday, Sept. 28.
“Excitement for sports wagering is building as we are just one week away from opening retail locations and one month from opening mobile applications for sports wagering,” Gov. Andy Beshear (D) said in a release. “Kentuckians now know where they can place a bet and the type of sporting events and wagers that licensees can offer.”
The Kentucky sports betting catalogue will allow bets on eSports, Japan Nippon Professional Baseball, FIBA sanctioned basketball events, and cycling events sanctioned by the Union Cycliste International.
