Celebrate Father's Day with these gifts and activities in Springfield
Father's Day is Sunday. If you're in need of a last-minute gift for the weekend, there are plenty of local businesses that have you covered, offering products like handmade leather wallets and popcorn-scented mustache wax.
If your old man prefers getting out and about on the big day, there are also several ways to celebrate, including free admission to the Dickerson Park Zoo and specially-crafted dinners at Finley Farms.
The News-Leader compiled a list of nine Springfield-based businesses offering the perfect gifts for our favorite dads.
Manly Cans is a family-owned business offering gifts geared for men, including gift baskets fit inside reusable canisters, like ammo cans and tin buckets. Gift basket options range from Burger's Smokehouse beef sticks and beer nuts to corkscrews and beard oil. Baskets range from $26 to $130.
Manly Cans may be purchased online at manlycans.com/ with local delivery or in-person at Little Bluebird Vintage Boutique in Ozark and Stone Mill Marketplace in Bolivar. Pre-orders can also be placed at Pits N Grills in Springfield.
If your dad is a fan of grazing, Lavish Grazing is offering a special Father's Day charcuterie board full of vegetables, fruits, cheeses and spreads all fit inside the letters to spell "DAD." Orders for the $45 charcuterie board can be placed online at lavishgrazingsgf.com/fathers-day-orders/dad-letters. If you're looking for something smaller, Lavish Grazing also offers mini boxes for $9.
Established in 2019, Lavish Grazing is owned and operated by the Hinkles family in Springfield.
Is your dad's wallet looking a bit rough? Anvil Customs located on Park Central Square has high-quality bifold, exotic leather, hand-stained and trifold wallets in a variety of different design. Anvil Customs products do range on the pricier side, with smaller wallets listed on the website starting around $150. Custom products can also be purchased at the storefront downtown.
Did you know Brown Derby offers handcrafted gift baskets for special occasions? Gift baskets can be picked up from a Brown Derby location after 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday but do require a 48-hour notice. Order forms can be completed to the Brown Derby website at brownderby.com/pages/gift-baskets.
